SOUTH POINTE HIGH SCHOOL: rock hill, sc
Interior Design Consultant for MBAJ Architecture (now Boomerang Design): A bold color palette was used throughout this 200,000 sq ft high school to enhance this educational space. Acoustic wall panels form an art installation in the main commons area. Color was used to increase awareness of the surroundings for the purpose of navigation, and to establish a relationship between color and specific learning environments based on a variety of factors which included established research on the use of color in education.

In keeping with the architect’s concept the lobby interior was designed to reflect the local surroundings while paying homage to the textile industry. Abstract interpretation of flowing water informed the terrazzo floor, red earth and cool blue toned walls compliment the emphatic dark ceiling that alludes to the night sky. Interior Design Consultant for Destination Cleveland County, Shelby, NC, Architect: MBAJ Architecture:
Recently completed, this new theater is the renovation of an original Art Deco cinema built in 1939. The facility which opened in November 2009, includes a 394 seat auditorium, reception hall with bar, and display area dedicated to the late musician Don Gibson. The concept: Integration - 1930's Egyptian Revival, add some 1950's, an Art Deco color palette and turn up the volume!
